Welcome to Index Care.
Welcome to Index Care.
At Index Care we support people with complex emotional needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who may become distressed easily.
Displaying behavior that challenges is a way of letting people know what you are thinking and feeling, expressing yourself and your emotions, especially if you have difficulties with communication or lacking other social skills to do so.
Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) approaches have become established as the best way of supporting people who display or are at risk of displaying behaviour which challenges services.
We provide Positive Behavioural Services and Index Care staff working with this group receive specialist training in delivery of best practice PBS to people at risk of behaviour that challenges.
As a person, you will be supported to manage your distress episodes successfully, becoming more independent and requiring less intensive services. We will also work with families and other professionals towards development of a full needs assessment and how best to support you. From there, all parties can develop and agree on a unique plan and strategy that will reduce the frequency of the behaviour that challenges and improve your quality of life.
PBS is based on recognition that people with the most complex behaviours have the same rights as everyone else.
‘Setting up Index Care has been Mary Phillips’ wish, her aspiration and her lifelong dream.’
This journey encouraged her to develop a scheme where adults with special needs and learning disabilities could live as independently as possible, getting the correct support and care.
