RP's Story
Trucks, Trains and more Trains
“RP loves to go out early, at 6 AM, to see the trains, he loves diesel, steam and electric but his special passion is for diesel trains.”
RP knows all about diesels and has been on a diesel 37215, for his birthday, he really enjoyed it; he loves the noise of trains, their sounds, how they camber on the bends and taking photographs of them.
RP is ecstatic if a driver toots and waves in response to him pulling an imaginary horn! RP not only loves trains he loves the history of trains; he is happy when he is logging train numbers in his journal, especially in nice weather.
The rarest train that he has seen was on London Transport, it was a 66. RP dreams of seeing The Rainbow, he knows which stations to go to but has yet to spot it.
RP has travelled all over the country to see his beloved trains from Hither Green, Tunbridge Wells, Eastleigh and Doncaster.
He would love to see the flying Scotsman, ride on the Orient Express and see inside an Eddie Stobart truck.
RP recalls, wistfully, how he loved going to Streatham for a Model Train Exhibition.
RP sighs, he has never yet been inside the cab of any train and he would dearly want to, the staff at Index Care are exploring the possibilities to make this young man’s wishes come true.
RP also really enjoys watching ghost adventures, football - specifically Arsenal, going to Streatham Ice Hockey, Clay Pigeon shooting and he is writing a book all about trains.
“We continue to support all tenants with their dreams and goals.”
‘Setting up Index Care has been Mary Phillips’ wish, her aspiration and her lifelong dream.’
This journey encouraged her to develop a scheme where adults with special needs and learning disabilities could live as independently as possible, getting the correct support and care.
